Terror, is it racial?

Okay you dopey morons. I’m gonna tell you about some insight that attacked my brilliant mind last Sunday while we were smoking up some good greens on the beach. where does terror originate?

The talk starts with the ultimate blight of the depraved System. None of us want to be a part of it. Yet we all ride it. None of us actually want to go to work. yet we do,. we are all in it for the money. A few lucky ones prefer to self actualize and choose a path of life that is apart from the mainstream. A few brave ones. But is not very much fun doing it if you don't have the money to support a house in Colombo, great food, and hangouts in all the artsy places around town. So the apparently altruistic, at least the ones we could identify, were all rich kids with big inheritances ditching the system cos their spoilt enough to afford it. The rest are all 'struggling artists' Which doesn’t really count right?

We have all go a set of needs to fulfill. And rarely will you find a bugger self actualizing without a shit given to basic necessities like food, shelter, security etc. So most of us on a default basis basically 'ride the system'. Which of course is, the economy as we know it. The system fakes everything up and tells you that you are making an honest living. and, little knowing the greed that is driving imbalance and oppression across the world, you gladly work for it. Hell i do too.

The system is a network of capitalization. The powerful always stay on top. It is driven by power and money. Any external benefits that happen because of it are purely there to help it grow. because the system knows its a give and take ball game. but it is essentially exploitative. That’s why you don’t see most companies take steps against pollution unless there is enormous public pressure for it to do so. It knows if doesn't comply, it's gonna destroy its income. So then we have 'green' sucker uppers.

The System has been running the world for a long time. Ever wondered why the British empire was never criticized for its sudden and disgraceful loss of power (After WW2 it went from owning almost half the worlds land mass to owning practically nothing.) Yet they still command oodles of respect in the world’s hierarchy of powerbrokers. Ever looked closely at the regions that the Brits pulled out of? Ever noticed what a fucked up state they were left in? look at Africa. They were doing really well in the days of the Empire. Now their hitting the dust again and again. Look at India. They were united in power against the occupier. Muslims, Hindus alike, the Brits left and somehow massive racial violence breaks out and what was once India is now several nations. Their power broken down. There's no telling really, what they might have achieved as a country if they had stayed united and never waged all these destructive internal wars that tore them apart.

The Brits had a strategic withdrawal plan alright; They were in cahoots with the Americans when they were doing it. Consolidating their power even in retreat. One can almost say the Empire never died. Just closed in on itself.

Just look at SL. Even India. We were divided before being colonized, then we finally united against a common enemy, who somehow made sure we divided again after we finally won over them.

Fine. Now leave all that aside and look at us people again. We are working for a system that runs the world. That’s fine. we don’t think a lot beyond our own needs, and essentially we don’t need to. The system works on the basis that everyone has a need for it to survive. But how about the crushed? how about its vast inefficiencies and the destruction that is waged by the system? How about the web of lies we continue to believe in because it gives us comfort and allows to pretend that what we are doing is actually the best thing we could be doing. That we are not contributing to the dastardly effects the system has on the world.

How about those few who stand up against it? Are they the terrorists? Or are they just one form of terrorists?

What do yall think? If you've managed to follow my reasoning so far. If not, I'm gonna tell you anyways what I think.

yes but WHAT DO YOU THINK? :)

I think you need to lay of the grass. The 'system' works. You can't blame it if you can't make it. It's the way of the world. Even if there was some radically different way of life, there'd still be people complaining about the way humans live.
Think of this 'system' of yours as a large evolutionary experiment. Survival of the fittest. We've come to an age where we support the weak, so they don't necessarily have to be culled, but in the larger picture, it's pretty hard to shrug it off.

Stop whining. ;)

TheWhacksteR said...

dude you need to smoke some up! no matter. the grass does not really make a difference here. resoning however, does.

'We've come to an age where we support the weak' bullshit. And you know it.

Stop lying to yourself :)

You deny the existence of charity programs? You know what would happen to the equivalent of a beggar in the animal world? It would get eaten.

Since I don't eat beggars, and sometimes even give them something, it sure looks like aid given to the weak.

Sure, Africa and all are royally fucked, but that's not only because they went out of colonial rule. And you might notice another country the brits left. That US of A used to be under the queen you know.

TheWhacksteR said...

Yes and so was Hong Kong. But not in specific context of the Empire. The strategic withdrawal i spoke of happened in the height of power. it was the erosion of a massive powerbase that cumulated in the WW.

As for charity organizations. Most of them are run by governments of rich nations. They use charity as a weapon to further their interests. Giving and taking as they please. on most occasions this works alright on the surface. But on most other occasions, it doesn’t.

Look at the UN. take a simple example. It is supposed to b more powerful than any of the individual nations put together yes? yet the US overrode it so easily to invade Iraq. The worlds institutions are a part of the system. This is not paranoid stoner talk. Reflect a little.

Jerry said...

I see where you're coming from, mate, but you paint the Empire as the Sith off star wars.

And they certainly weren't at the height of their power. WW2 had ruined pretty much every country in europe. Yet another point in time where the americans got more powerful by leaps and bounds.

This 'system' is what the world is. Face it, it works. And if it works, why fix it? Even if it WAS different, somebody'll pop up and try changing that. No matter how many wrongs there are in this one, any other won't system wouldn't have fewer.

Jerry said...

And just to spice things up,
Women, leave the thinking to us superior men. Go make us something to eat.

:D

Yes. The end of WW2 was when the Americans truly entered the world scene. As for the British, yes, the Empire was crumbling. and the final hit was WW2. I am not panting the empire as anything, but you see what u see:)

"This 'system' is what the world is. Face it, it works. And if it works, why fix it?"

Ah yes. it’s what the world is. But does it really work Jerry? What’s the answer to all our problems? Capitalism? Socialism?

If the system works why are there AIDS patients dying in Africa unable to afford expensive drugs. The drug companies may as well give them away at cost price.

If the system works then just look at the insurance industry, which relies on the lack of information to survive.

If the system works then just look at the oppression people go through because they don’t have money / influence to get something done.

No the system is not working. Its surviving. sure. But for how long?

Are we destined to go through endless cycles of massive wars and global restructuring?

You defa see the world thru a rose tinted view my friend :)

Life is about surviving, in my opinion.

Dude, let's meet up over the weekend? You, me, Unsilent, and whoever else would contribute to a constructive conversation and wouldn't mind the smell of weed (:

Sabby said...

You have the few who defy the system and therefore mass labelled as 'terrorists' but when you actually get to the grit of things, you have the likes of Jerry, you and I who do nothing but be shepherded around by it over coffee or weed.

At the end of the day, all we can do is talk about it while we wait for some poor radical bastard to take the initiative and put an end to all the miseries that everyone complains about.

Oh well. My two cents.

And Jerry, I shall beat you up with a broom if I ever see you. Sexist!!

Fallen - nice idea dude! was with RSZ when this particular topic came up. Sure i am definitely game. let me knw.

Sabby - you've definitely got a point there. But my feeling is if more of us actually start accepting the truth and stop deluding ourselves it will be a step in the right direction. At least ride the system while knowing what a deranged thing it really is ya?

The system is good, like all things u must learn how to play it,

its when you are born with bad odds like a child born in botaswana with a 90% chance of getting HIV positive and a 1% chance of getting an education is when the shit hits the ceiling....

realskullzero said...

heh..man the system! well it all depends on hw ur are willing to look at it...

I agree with whackster on this "if more of us actually start accepting the truth and stop deluding ourselves it will be a step in the right direction" I guess it should be an attempt of collective thinking.

None of the new concepts or even ideas would not work perfectly unless people are genuine about it or doesnt respect the others ideas. But then again its human nature.. so this poses an ultimate question? will any thing ever work??

We bring down the current powers and turn it upside down, and bring out a system that rule out the existing erosion, will it only be a matter of time when another group of sh*theads start rebelling against it??

I guess unless evryone or most of us start thinking collectively or at least respect each others ideas we will not be able to find the perfect system....

I guess thats what our friend foxhound tried to convey also

damn seems like i missed some good stuff on Sunday..

the system is so ingrained within ppl now that they are afraid of change. Even those who try to resist it and make a change are laughed at by the riders.

Say u wanna do something different. Something which might upset the 'imbalance' if done properly and collectively. U will hardly get support any cos u will be regarded as a retard, extremist or Marxist. Others will follow only if u make a drastic change big enough to show them whats right &how they'll benefit. Until then everyone's happy living in blind obedience.

I'm against the system. I know what it has done and I have a vision of a world beyond it. But I know the difficulty in getting there. I have tried, lost faith in ppl, given up and yet stood up again to take a silent approach. It's hard but at least I'm happy.
The system wrecks everything.

I have no solution here but I'm not sorry.

On a diff note.. we should meet up, this weekend and next I'm busy. I'm up for meeting up on a weekday if u guys can Or y'all meet up, and isl join for the next time

Personally, i'm glad of my rose tinted view of things. Makes life easier. And re people realizing what the system does how it affects them, who cares? Even if people knew all about this system thing you keep referring to, what good would come out of it? The strong will still rule over little pockets of the weak. Domination is in our blood. Every animal aims to become the alpha male or whatever. Humans just have a million different ways of doing it.
AIDS patients lying in hospitals is a combination of pharma corporations aiming for profit, corrupt charities and just general screw ups. It's anyone's guess if it's the same people who caused that who caused say, SARS.

But anyway, the whole 'system' would have to comprise of many, many people. So many that it is easy to get into. Thereby making it not a 'system' but simply life. It is the way of the world.

What we have now, the system as you call it, works. You think that PC you're sitting in front of was plucked off a tree? It gives up what we want, and the right people can make changes to it. I'm happy with what the world has to offer. Even if it's run by a board of aliens and microsoft, i'd say give em a raise.

sabby- that's if the man of the house lets you go out, infidel.

Machan, I think aid is the single most powerful enemy to the development in the third world. It is what keeps them 'developing'
Read stuff written by Peter Bauer. Can be quite enlightening.

Good Post BTW...

Ask RSZ to come
You have my email yeah?
mail me and I'll give you my number

Fallen - sounds like a plan bro!

MP - So the system depends on what your situation is? if you’re born rich then your good. if not, too bad? no incentive to change is there? cos the rich control the system don’t they??

Realskullzero / Unsilent - Yes iv thought about it much and it unfortunately comes down to human weakness. We are constantly willing to let the truly evil in the top di the truly evil things and blindly follow saying that 'that’s the way it is'. The way I see it it’s a cliché solution. we are all part of the problem.

Unsilent! Dude we need to meet up soon though ok?

Jerry - Rose tinted views do give us all a lot of comfort don’t they? Doesn’t mean that the truth is much darker. Hey u should read 'confessions of an economic hitman' it’ll give you some insight into 'this system' :)

Sachith - thanks man yeah I’ll check his stuff out. Do you read Chomsky?
