one day i WILL join the ranks of the free

and i aint talking about retirement

(o_O Then?)

(I mean, what are you talking about if not retirement? o_o)

FREEDOM!!!

i believe in a freedom that i cannot yet visualize
it is a dream, an illusion sometimes, but i hold on to it
for that is what keeps me going throughout the nights
and the days of opressed corporate life

Then true freedom cannot exist. Imagine you're a kite on a string flying 'freely' in the air, the string is the illusion of freedom, it is the chain, the leash. Even if the string snaps, what happens then? Its flight depends on the wind, which way it blows and how hard or slow. Will the kite ever be free, without wind? Without gravity? The kite cannot exercise 'free-will' without the help of external forces. You can never be free, even in zero gravity... There is still some force, some distant sun around which you orbit. You will never be free, even in a black hole or an alternate universe, not even in your dreams. Freedom is what you make of what you have the way you want using your free-will, taking advantage of the forces that be, and always will be. You are still only a puppet. One that kicks and screams, runs around, jump and leaps. There is always a master, and it is never you. You will never be free.

ah yes. but i can dream :D

plus 'chain' signifies a binding. and freedom that comes without a 'chain', in elements of nature you are perfectly at peace with, becomes less of a burden.

But how long can peace last? You will gradually become uncomfortable, and the burden will gain weight with time. It is only relative. Familiarity breeds contempt.

only in the narrow context of human perception. There has to be more to life than abstract slavery, and being immersed in the illusion of the material world we are unable to even imagine it.
